Staff Physician

Position: Staff Physician – Hammond Health Clinic

Regional Health Systems is Northwest Indiana’s largest provider of community-based mental health care, primary health care and addiction treatment services. We offer adults and children—both uninsured and insured—integrated care through our community mental health center and federally qualified health center. Regional Health Systems is a member of the Regional Care Group.

Position Purpose:

to provide medical coverage for the Health Clinic, provide diagnostic and direct treatment services for clinic patients, and to provide medical consultation and supervision to Clinic staff

Essential Function:

  • Diagnosis
  • Provision of direct therapeutic and management services
  • Clinical direction and oversight of other medical services
  • On call after hours consolation to Emergency Services and Clinic nurses. Services, for emergencies and for assigned caseload
  • Consultation on as-needed basis to other staff and other agencies on medical issues
  • Collaborative Practice Agreement
  • Clinical Documentation
  • Maximize third party payments for services
  • Policies, Procedures, Manuals, Resource Documents
  • Productivity
  • Ethical/Legal Issues – understanding of state codes and following standards

Job Details: Full-time position – day shift

Requirements:

  • Education: MD or DO
  • Indiana physician license, Federal and Indiana controlled substances licenses (DEA) Board Certified preferred (not required).
  • Experience: Graduate of accredited residency program.
